Some new Genshin Impact 5.1 leaks about Xilonen’s abilities are making me particularly thrilled about her release. Xilonen is a new Geo character from the region of Natlan, though very little is known about her aside from her design. The character has an adult female body type, blonde hair, cat-like ears at the top of her head, and green eyes. Xilonen is confirmed to be Geo, as her Vision is worn on a necklace. Xilonen is but one of the many new Natlan characters in Genshin Impact, though her exact release date has yet to be confirmed by developer HoYoverse.
The first Natlan characters to be released in their playable forms will be Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina. Beyond that, the developer has not given players an update on when they can expect to pull for any of the new units from the Nation of Pyro. However, leaks have revealed that Xilonen may be a new character in Version 5.1. In fact, even before the teaser trailer showcasing the Natlan cast, there had been a Geo character leak in Genshin Impact 5.1, revealing some details about her rumored abilities. Now, more exciting information about Xilonen’s rumored kit has allegedly been leaked.

Constellation Leaks Indicate The New Natlan Character Scales Off Her Own DEF Stat
According to a new piece of information provided by the leaker known as Foul, which was shared in a post tagged as “Questionable” on Reddit, Xilonen’s Elemental Skill will be able to deal Resistance shred to enemies. The leak says the RES shred value is equal to 36% of an enemy’s total. In turn, this would make enemies more susceptible to damage from the team comp’s main DPS. From the looks of it, Xilonen will operate as an enemy debuffer and a support unit for her party in Genshin Impact, allowing the other members to deal more damage.
For reference, RES shred is, essentially, the reduction of an enemy’s natural resistance to certain types of damage. By reducing it, they become more vulnerable.
The rest of the leak mentions that, at C4 (Constellation level 4), Xilonen gains some sort of DEF buff, which may be stackable. This indicates that her abilities will scale off her DEF stat, which is not surprising considering she is a Geo character. Most characters of this element use DEF as their main stat, though the most problematic ones have double stat-scaling with another type of stat. Chiori in Genshin Impact, for instance, scales off both DEF and ATK, which makes it somewhat troublesome to build her due to the randomized aspect of stats and sub-stats present in Artifacts.
The leak also highlights Xilonen’s rumored C6 (Constellation level 6). Foul mentions that, by using Xilonen’s Elemental Skill, her Normal Attacks will be buffed by a large percentage of her DEF, further proving the point that she scales off DEF. Another leak by Foul, which was also shared in a post tagged as “Questionable” on Reddit, highlights Xilonen’s rumored signature weapon. According to the leak, her weapon has a DEF sub-stat, increases Normal Attacks by a percentage of her DEF, and this effect may be stackable.
This rumored weapon’s sub-stat and DMG bonuses also show Xilonen’s inclination toward using DEF as her main stat in Genshin Impact.
The leak also says that the signature weapon provides the rest of the team with CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and Elemental DMG bonuses based on the user’s DEF stat. If this is true, this sustains the argument that Xilonen is a support in team comps. Furthermore, the rumors that Xilonen has a signature weapon seem to confirm that she will be a 5-star unit. Normally, only 5-star characters have signature weapons. Some 4-star units are known for using a specific weapon, like Sethos with the Scion of the Blazing Sun, but it is not his signature weapon in Genshin Impact.

The previous leaks about the Geo character in Version 5.1, before Xilonen’s reveal, also mentioned that Xilonen’s specialty was creating shields. As such, the upcoming character may not only be a support with buffing and debuffing capabilities but also a shielder. It is uncertain to what extent her shielding powers will work and if they will match the shields provided by Zhongli, for instance, but if this is true, we may finally have an alternative to the Geo Archon in Genshin Impact – and, apparently, one that is capable of doing a lot more than simply shielding.
Xilonen’s Rumored Support & Shielding Are Reasons Enough For Pulls In Genshin Impact
The Character Is Rumored To Provide Different Buffs Based On The Elements
Xilonen’s buffing effects may also vary. According to information from an uncredited leaker, which was shared in a post tagged as “Sus” on Reddit, Xilonen’s C2 (Constellation level 2) will provide different bonuses based on the elements. It is unsure if these bonuses will be triggered by simply having characters of the respective elements in the team comps or if they will be activated upon an Elemental Reaction with her Geo abilities. However, there are some surprising buffs listed in this Genshin Impact leak, even if they may be highly subject to change.
The Pyro buff, for instance, is said to increase ATK by 40%, while the Geo buffs CRIT Rate by 30%.
Even though most of the leaks are centered around her Constellations and not about her C0 (Constellation level 0) tool kit, there is a lot to look forward to. A new Geo support that can actively buff my team comp and protect them with shields sounds extremely promising. Another enticing aspect of the leaks is that Xilonen seemingly only scales off of her DEF, which would make building her a lot easier than if she had double scaling. As we move into Natlan’s release in Genshin Impact, more details about Xilonen should be revealed.

In fact, if the leaks about her release are true, Xilonen should be confirmed as the Version 5.1 character before the release of Natlan. While I am taking the leaks with some caution due to how uncertain and subject to change they may be, I cannot help myself and not feel thrilled by the prospect of finally putting Zhongli aside for a while and taking on a new Geo character who may be even more helpful than him. Hopefully, the leaks about Xilonen in Genshin Impact are true – and I might even pull for her while remaining F2P (free-to-play).
